Located in the heart of the hamlet of Westport, New York, the Westport Library Association has served the community and its visitors since 1884.
Envisioned as a library that would provide local residents with quality services, to this day it continues to do just that. With its lofty ceilings, high windows, wooden beams, and a welcoming open fire during the winter months, residents and visitors alike continue to delight in its perennial charm.
The Westport Library is a member the Clinton Essex Franklin Library System, as are a multitude of other regional libraries. Most of these libraries are online and connected via an automated catalog system.
What this means to you is that your Westport Library Card gives you access to the holdings and resources of all those other libraries. You can even order and renew books from your home computer.
Westport’s history is long, rich, and varied.
To help unlock some of that history we’ve assembled a collection of local photographs for your browsing enjoyment. You can select individual images to examine in detail, or just sit back and let the automated slide show carry you through the years.
