Thanks to the generosity of an uncountable number of people over the decades, the library has been able to provide the community of Westport and its visitors with unbroken service since 1884. Nevertheless, meeting the library’s financial requirements remains a never ending task, and each year presents new challenges in finding ways to keep the doors open, the building sound, and books on the shelves.
